Abigail Hall*
Commercial Restaurant Design
*Designed under Smith Hanes Studio
While working at Smith Hanes Studio, Patrick led the design team for Abigail Hall, an elegant cocktail bar located within the Woodlark Hotel in downtown Portland. The design pays homage to the Cornelius Hotel's original ladies' reception hall, featuring a pink and green palette. The space boasts replicated penny tile floors, a coffered ceiling, and hand-painted wallpaper by Michael Paulus. The bar is adorned with velvet barstools, an emerald-tiled fireplace, curved booths, and marble tables, creating a refined and comfortable hangout.
Abigail Hall, named after women's suffrage activist Abigail Scott Duniway, is housed in the former library of the Cornelius Hotel. This 40-seat living room and bar features green wainscot walls with a hand-painted floral motif, a custom chandelier, and a welcoming fireplace. The design captures the spirit of women's history while offering a cozy and sophisticated space for guests to enjoy.
