Atrium*
Commercial Restaurant Design
*Designed under Smith Hanes Studio
Designed by Patrick Di Rito and Janine MacKenzie while at Smith Hanes Studio, this eclectic restaurant embraces a whimsical, maximalist aesthetic inspired by French art deco. At Atrium, on the main level of Ponce City Market, pink is more than a color—it’s a statement. Pink adorns the banquette upholstery, an avian-themed mural in the bar, and elegant draperies, creating a playful yet sophisticated ambiance.
Emerald green tiles, crafted by local artisans, line the front of the bar, adding a lush contrast to the pink hues. This vibrant blend of colors and textures showcases the bold vision of the designers. “A lot of the inspiration came from maximalist interiors,” MacKenzie notes.
Atrium offers a unique dining experience where every detail invites exploration. The playful design encourages guests to dress for the occasion, turning a visit into a festive event. From hand-crafted tiles to custom draperies, Atrium reflects a commitment to creating an immersive and joyful atmosphere, making it a standout destination in Atlanta.
